Rust and Mill Scale Removal
Rust and mill scale sit on top of the metal. A pulsed fiber laser heats that layer until it flashes off as dust into an extractor, then stops, because the clean steel underneath reflects the beam instead of absorbing it. Nothing physically touches the part.
That matters most on pieces where shape is the whole point. Blasting takes material off, rounds edges and can leave grit packed into seams you will be chasing for a year. Laser takes the oxide and leaves the panel thickness, the stamped detail, the machined faces and the casting marks exactly as they were.

Few Things To Know:
It will not fill pitting. Where rust has already eaten into the metal you will see clean pits, because the damage was there all along and the oxide was hiding it. That is worth knowing before you decide whether a piece is worth saving.
Light surface rust moves quickly. Heavy scale, thick flaking rust or rust under old coatings is slower, so those jobs are billed by the hour rather than by the square foot. A photo tells us which one you have.
On a large flat area under thick multi-layer coatings, blasting is usually cheaper. If that is your job we will say so rather than take the work and disappoint you.
