Grease, Oil and Carbon Removal

Grease, baked-on oil and carbon deposits absorb the beam and lift off as dust into an extractor. There is no solvent bath, no wire wheel and no need to break a part down and soak it.

Because nothing abrasive touches the surface, machined faces, bearing surfaces and mould detail come through unchanged. There is no chemical residue left behind to flash off later or interfere with a coating, and no solvent to store, ventilate or dispose of.

Typical work is moulds and tooling, press platens, engine and gearbox components, machined parts, and equipment that would otherwise be sent out and waited on. In some cases we can clean in place rather than pulling a machine out of a line.

Heavy carbon build-up is slow going and is billed by the hour rather than by the square foot. Light films and surface grease move much faster. A photo tells us which you have.

Plastics, seals and composites are not suitable. They absorb the beam instead of reflecting it, so strip anything like that off the part before it comes to us or tell us and we will work around it.

It cleans the surface, not the inside. Oil that has soaked into porous castings or gasket material will not be drawn out by a laser, and parts needing degreasing right through still need a bath.
